Sunset on Lido Beach 4/9/18

One of the evenings in Florida, we went out to the beach to watch the sunset. It was still warm out, and the beach was pretty empty, so we had a wonderful time enjoying God's creation.

and...we had to get just a little wet.

Florida 2018

Our family spent the beginning of April in the lovely sunny south!! Ahh, it was amazing!! Most of the time we had sunshine and mid 80's, but the last day or two it was rainy/cloudy, but then it was a good time to do some shopping. Enjoy this preview of our trip! 😊 --

We left Tuesday at about 1pm, and drove straight, except for a few stops, arriving in Florida the next day. We stopped for breakfast Wednesday morning, and the sunshine felt amazing!!  --

The last haul...soon there...can you tell we're all ready to be OUT of the suburban?! 😜 --

There is a farm market/store down there that we all love to go to and stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables! Think fresh strawberries and blueberries!! --

the one evening we went out for icecream...it was yummy!! --

the one morning we raided a local goodwill, and came home with some treasures!

Grandpa & Grandma Martin arrived on Friday to spend the rest of the time with us, and we thoroughly enjoyed having them there! Of course, Grandpa had to take us to all of his favorite restaurants...including this burger joint called Freddie's! --

And the next night was Duff's! --

Sunday afternoon we went to a free ski show...it was SO cool! Flips...pyramids...jumps...all sorts of crazy, but awesome water tricks!  --

Monday we went to Myakka River State Park and took an airboat ride and saw lots of alligators! It was really neat and a lovely day!! --

spotting the alligators!! --

the park was beautiful and we had fun taking some pictures amongst the big trees.... --

Grandpa and Grandma love playing games, and we learned how to play a really fun and easy game called flip-it that actually originated in Sarasota Florida! Me and Grandpa were playing together on this picture, and we look very involved in what's going on 😛 --
