Reproof // Proverbs 12:1

(photo creds: Pinterest)

“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭
// This verse hits home to me because this subject is something I need to work on.  // I do not like reproof // I'm the kind of person who when I get reproved or do something wrong, I get grumpy. // I want to do things without being told when or how // if I know something needs to be done, I want to do it NOW. That is not wrong. Sometimes the wrong part is the attitude towards it. I go into "get it done mode" and leave others frustrated because it's all I want to do and I want to do it now and get it out of the way. So the moral of the story, to me and you, (whether you're like that or not 😉) is that everything has its time and purpose, ("To everything thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heaven" Ecclesiastes 3:1) and sometimes things aren't going to always do right and we might just be given a better idea or get a scolding. We need to take that wisdom and reproach from those that know different + better than us and then learn from it! //

  2. Soo good! And like you said, whether or not we like it...we all need refroof/correction time and again. But that's human nature and that is why we needed Jesus to die on the cross for us ❤

  3. This is a good verse! It is definitely good to love instruction (the Bible does say in Revelation that a father who chastens his son loves him), but I'm not sure that's always how it is for me! It's so hard to take discipline well., with a happy or willing spirit. I just found this verse from Proverbs 15:31.... "The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise." Anyway, here I go again, writing the longest comment of anyone! (can you tell that I like writing?) ;-) Thank you for the post, Shalom!
