*Hemlock Haven*

So last week this time me and my sisters were getting ready for a fun weekend with grandpa and grandma Sauder and 4 of our lovely girl cousins. We headed towards Williamsport PA to go to Grandma's Aunt Evy's cabin: Hemlock Haven. The drive took about 3 hrs, beings we stopped at Hardee's for supper, due a little girl needing to use the restroom =)

We arrived at the cabin around 7:00pm and got settled in!

The cabin what is what I called a "real cabin." Ok, so Grandpa Martin has a cabin that is more of a retreat center, but Grandma's Aunt's cabin had the real cabin feel + smell!! It was so fun.

The 3 youngest slept in this room and each got their own bed =O

This is kind of a bad picture, but this was the 4 oldest' room. So we all started out on the top bunks (they were double bunks) but it was way to hot and none of us could sleep, so around somewhere around midnight we moved to the bottom bunks ;)

We all got our pajamas on, had a snack, and then we did skits and whatnot. It was a blast just relaxing and having fun together! Oh and the picture is of Leah & Laurie being goofy =)

Saturday morning we had breakfast and then spent time in the cabin. After that, we went on a walk and then it was time to have fun in the woods/creek. The girls did a wonderful job of building a VERY cool fort...here are some pictures:
Notice the green "carpet" on this picture. It was moss =)

                                                                                Haley and her oven!

We even had a campfire with "marshmallows" =)

Then in the afternoon we played in the creek...we were wading, and the girls were catching all kinds of creatures.... frog, crayfish, mud-skipper, minnows and then put them in buckets....I didn't participate in this too much...not quite my kind of thing to be messing with those creatures ;)

Overall we had a great time, and I am so thankful grandpa and grandma took us!!! they're the best!
Have a marvelous dreary weekend you all!

  1. Looks like fun, Shalom! Oh, I know exactly what you mean about the "real" cabin thing! Like, I went with you guys to your Grandpa Gene's cabin, and I was thinking "this is NOT a cabin!" :-) Yeah, I love the actual cabin look: rustic, small, cozy, etc. Enjoyed the post!
